Position: Shift Manager

Location: Alvin, TX 7751

Hours: Currently Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 18:00 (day shift). Subject to change, with the potential to transition to a 24/7 rotating 4-team shift schedule (12-hour rotating days and nights).

Salary: $24 - $28 per hour depending on experience.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the Team Supervisors and supporting them in the effective leadership of Manufacturing Operatives, ensuring production, safety, and quality standards are consistently met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety, Production, and Quality standards.
  • Leading by example to ensure all products meet the required specifications and quality criteria.
  • Identifying operational or personnel issues and solving or escalating as needed.
  • Deputizing for the Production Manager when required, assisting in team leadership and shift operations.
  • Conducting procedural observations of Team Leads and Operatives and providing feedback to the Plant Manager.
  • Ensuring all personnel are aligned with the company’s priorities and objectives.
  • Leading daily shift handovers and ensuring accurate communication of production status and issues.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Coordinating with Maintenance and other departments to minimize downtime.
  • Coaching and developing team members to improve performance and engagement.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in supervisory roles within a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong, results-driven mindset.
  • Experience operating or supervising a variety of manufacturing equipment and tools.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and an effective problem-solver.
  • Open to working in a dynamic environment, including future shift structure changes.
  • Experience in oil & gas, chemicals, adsorbents, or catalyst manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with ISO or other quality management systems.
  • Forklift operation experience or certification.
  • Working knowledge of ERP or MES systems.
