Methanation Catalyst

MC-710 is a Ni-based methanation catalyst, which comes in the oxidized or pre-reduced version. It is cylindrical tablet (spherical or extrudate) with 18-25% NiO, high activity, high surface area, and has a target operating temperature of 450—800 F. MC-710 can handle temperature spikes up to 900-1000 F for short periods of time without loss of activity. The pre-reduced catalyst version allows for smooth, quick, and optimum start up of the product. This catalyst can be used in ammonia, hydrogen or ethylene plants.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

NiO: 18-25%, or in pre-reduced Ni: 15%, NiO: 7-10%, Balance Al2O3 carrier.

Bulk Density: 0.8-1.0 kg/liter (62 lbs/cuft depending on oxidized or 56 lbs/cuft pre-reduced).

Optimum Operating Temperature: 500—700 F

Size & Shape: 5*5 mm tablet, 3-6 mm sphere, or 6 mm extrudate

Radial Crush Strength: 25 lbs pellets / 15 lbs extrudate / 13.5 lbs Spherical

Surface Area: 80-120 m2/g

Attrition loss: les than 8% for extrudate, less than 3 % for tablets and sphere

Maximum CO+CO2 inlet: 3% / Exit Target CO+CO2 = 1 ppm
