ISM SERIES

 ACTIVE Ceramic Spherical Support Media

 

UNICAT ISM active ceramic support series are impregnated all purpose support material for use in refinery, chemical, and gas plants where active ceramic support utilization is acceptable.  It is available in a wide variety of sizes.  Specialty sizes produced per request.   ISM series of impregnated support media are available in spherical ball forms and by request in tabular forms. Two main characteristics set the products apart form other vendors:  1) Uniform spherical shape allowing for high stress distribution ability and 2) High crush strength due to unique chemistry and porosity.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

CoO: 1-2% or NiO:1-2%, MoO3: > 5-6%, SiO2: 55%, Al2O3 > 25-35%, TiO2: 0-2%max., Fe2O3: 0-2% max, CaO: 0.3-0.5%, K2O: 1-3%, Sulfur : 20-30 ppm, Cl: 1-5 ppm  

Bulk Density: 81-90 lbs/cuft—per size variation – Average: 86 lbs/cuft

Sizes:  1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 1, 1.5, 2 inch balls

Crush Strength: > 400-1800 lbs (size correlation)

Surface Area:  0.02-0.03 M2/g

Apparent Porosity: > 0.80-0.9

Acid Resistance: > 98%
