AFS™ : Active Filtration System (A Licensed Technology)

The AFS system provides a revolutionary approach to the modern bed grading technology to the refining and petrochemical industry. UNICAT AFScatalyst systems are the next level of filtration technology. By using a fundamentally unique designed filtration module, AFScatalysts provide the following significant advantages over other traditional grading products:

·        Highest External Void Fraction > 86%

·        Highest Internal Void Fraction for maximum retention at 68%

·        Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) volume of the main bed catalyst is increased due to the excellent grading capacity of AFS. Proven in current ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) applications.

·        Flow distribution qualities 400-500% better than any other shaped ceramic

·        Inert (high pure alumina) or fully active catalyst with CoMo or NiMo metal promotion as required to handle any type service.

·        Exceptionally effective filtration of 1-2500 micron size particulates using different mesh sizing to remove almost any type of particulate matter.

·        Are 50-100% more effective than the Topsoe/Criterion/Crystaphase type grading systems in prevention of pressure drop even in the most severe services.

·        Extreme flexibility in filter design and pattern management for maximum flexibility in tailor-made filtration loading for each specific type of operation challenge.

AFSPRODUCT LIST: ( All AFS disks are available in 10, 25, and 50 mesh sizes. )

  • High purity alumina standard.
  • Low or high grade CoMo on alumina provide hydrodesulfurization activity in the grading layer.
  • Low or high grade NiMo on alumina provide hydrodesulfurization and denitrification activity in the grading layer.
  • MINI disks provide excellent flow redistribution into the main catalyst bed.
  • Shape optimized octagonal and ridged disks target olefin and/or polymerization.
  • Macroporous product provides filtration of sub-micron particulates (1-3 micron).
  • Ultra-mini product provides filtration in the transitional layer.
